Recipe: Footy Finals Sausage Rolls

Ingredients

1 Packet Careme Spelt Packet Puff Pastry

Milk for basting

Sesame Seeds for sprinkling

Filling

500g Cherry Tree Certified Organic Beef Mince or Cherry Tree Certified Organic Pork Mince

2 Carrots, grated

2 Green Apples, grated

2 tsp Biona Dijon Mustard 

1 tsp Simply Organic Curry Powder

1 tsp each of Salt and Pepper

½ cup Zeally Bay Sourdough Bread Crumbs

Method

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

In a large bowl, mix filling ingredients until well combines.

Cut each pastry sheet into three long strip and place filling down the centre of each strip.

Roll the pastry to enclose the filling, pressing the edge to seal.

Cut into desired size (we cut ours almost bite-sized, but larger rustic sausage rolls also work well).

Brush the pastry with a little milk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Bake for 20-30 minutes or until golden.
